Sad News - 225 lbs.

I didn't make it, I don't know what happened but my body didn't really like me. Oh well. We have the next to weeks up next to rock it. I have been reading the book and I'm at a part that is so many big words its just getting confusing. I understand the jest of it but that about it. I could write a short essay without reading over again at least twice. Just wanted to give everyone an update and wish me luck for the next to weeks. Peaces.

Almost to 10 - 224.5 lbs

Almost to 10 pounds lost. So far I've loved this diet. I have missed some of the carbs like pasta and bun on burgers. I will admit I have cheated 2 now getting burgers with buns. But it didn't seem to effect to much as far a losing weight. Me and my girlfriend (Darene) are going to try and only cheat once a month and have a set day. That way we have something to look forward to. It won't be going out to dinner but at least a home cook meal and try to keep the carbs fairly low. Just something to satisfy the craving for the early stages. I've made jambalaya using califlower (food processed) rather than rice. Last night I made pizza using almond meal, egg, and olive oil to make the crust. Topped with fresh made sauce, fresh mozzarela, then chorizo sausage, artichoke hearts, garlic, and onions. It was great but I'm gonna make the crust thinner next time. For the recipe goto: http://www.marksdailyapple.com/son-of-groks-primal-pizza-recipe/ . I've have some awesome support from my best friend Aaron who has been doing this for a while. This is the first time that I have felt like losing weight and getting healthy has been easy versus being a chore. My days off aren't so boring now just watching TV, I get out and go do something or workout at home. Loving it. I'll be checking in on Thursday to post whether I reach my 10 lb goal, I almost there we will see what happens. I'll probably be going on a bike ride today. To make sure my metabolism is on track too. Peace.

Almond Chicken - 228 lbs.

Prep Time - 10 mins.
Cook Time - 30 mins.
Rating - 3.5/5

Recipe

Chopped Almond
Egg
Chicken Tenderloin

Directions

This is pretty easy and I didn't measure anthing for it. Use a food processor or your own hand to break down the almonds until their is a mix between sand size almonds and pebble size. Next put all of you tenderloins in a big zip lock back with 1 to 2 eggs depending on how much you have. You just want enough to cover them up. Then dip them in the almonds in a bowl. Put them on a baking sheet and bake at 350F for about 25-30 mins until done. This recipe taste like Fried Chicken to me and great dipped in dijon mustard. Try it out and tell me what you think.

Lara Bars - 229 lbs.

It been just a couple of days and I have lost a few pounds so far. I haven't started to work out yet. But I plan on going on a bike ride tonight after dark. I'm starting to notice I am starting to love some of the thing this earth bring to us naturally, tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers and all kinds of nuts. I always have but now I get excited just to eat them raw. I found a new love for Lara Bars which are damn expensive but are so great. The first fruit/nut bar that I have seen to only include 3 - 4 natural ingredients. I decided that it should be too hard to make them myself. Especially with my new food processor. So I will try that once I finish my pack that I bought from costco the other day. I also started reading the Primal Blueprint book by Mark Sisson and I have good news, it makes sense. I enjoyed burgers last night with the lady replacing the buns for lettuce (soon I will do it with portabello mushroom tops), bacon, dijon mustard, grill onions and peppers. Delicious. I love it!! I don't think I ever found a diet so easy to stick by and eat the foods that I really like. Until next time BYE!!

PS. Hopefully some more weight drops off...I'm sure it will.

...And So It Begins. - 232lbs

I've started this blog to keep a track record of my journey to eating healthier and living life to the fullest. My goals are to lose enough weight to be under 200 lbs. to start with and see what happens after that. I'm trying to be more active. I've tried starting some new hobbys, running and cycling. I just picked up some new shoes and a Nike+ for my ipod to track myself. Also a new bike being my first road bike. Its a Specialized Allez Comp 2011. To give a little background, me and my girlfriend Darene have been trying different things out to lose some weight and be more active. Weight Watchers being one of them. After trying the diet for a couple months, we realized that it was too much hassle tracking down all the point, looking at the back of every single package to enter the calories, fat, and fiber into a calculator to tell whether we should get it or not and just paying the fee every month to maintain our log. I can say that I did lose about 12 lbs. doing WW. But it all came back...

...after getting back to my normal eating. A few weeks ago I was talking to my best friend Aaron. He had taken it upon himself to start his own diet called the Caveman diet. With one simple rule. If a caveman could have ate it, go right ahead. Pretty much cuts out any processed food. Sounds simple and it makes sense. He soon figured out that their actually was a Caveman diet and it was based on the Primal Blueprint (a book and theory). This went a little more indepth with the rules, there are 10 simple rules. I hope to incorporate all of them into my life. This diet is about living and eating more primal as easy as that. Eat more meat, veggies and fruits. Thats the majority. If anyone wants to check out more info on this goto http://www.marksdailyapple.com/ or www.primalblueprint.com/ I will be updating my weight and my new finding, the way I'm feeling and everything that I can track. I want to be able to look back on this and see if things have really made a change for the better.

Round One...FIGHT!!!
